Coaches Clinic

A free coaches clinic for all GSA coaches coaching in the U5 Division and up for the Spring 2010 season has been scheduled for Sunday, March 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at USA Sports Academy (formerly The Hoop).  USA Sports Academy is located at 4185 E. 5th Avenue, Columbus.  Geoff Starks, Director of Coaching, GNA Futbol Club, will administer the program.  This is an excellent opportunity for our coaches to acquire many new tips and insights into how to run a practice and to develop practice drills that will teach your team how to perform the skills to play soccer.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.  We hope to see you on the 21st!

Practice Schedule

Practice schedules are set by the team coach.  Practice for our Spring season can begin as early as March 17th.  Games are scheduled to begin the week of April 4th.

Teams

Teams for our Spring season will be formed starting February 21st.  Please have your registration form submitted by February 20th in order to be guaranteed placement on a team.

Spring Season Play

Spring season will begin the week of April 4th. 
Each team will play a total of 8 games.  Rec. Major Divisions will play 8 games plus tournament games.  The season is scheduled to be finished by Memorial Day Weekend.
Games are played on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Saturdays.

Spring 2010 Registration

Open registraton for GSA Spring season will begin in January.  All returning players from the Fall 2009 season should use the registration form they will receive in the mail.  All new players to GSA should attend on of the open registrations held on

January 30th, 10am - 2pm
February 4th, 6pm - 8pm
February 6th, 10am - 2pm
February 8th, 6pm - 8pm

All open registratons are held at Headley Park.

If you are NEW (never played for GSA) to GSA and you can not make it to an open registration, you may mail in your registration form along with a copy of your childs birth certificate.

Weather Information

If games are cancelled due to weather, the scrolling marquee will indicate a message as such.  If you call the GSA office at 855-0506 the information will be stated on the recorded message.  If the recorded message does not state games are cancelled, then games are not cancelled.  The phone message will not change to indicate games are on, only if games are cancelled.  We will try to have the message posted within 1 hour before game time.

Cost To Play

U4 division is $20 with a $20 non-resident fee if applicable.
All other divisions $50 with a $20 non-resident fee if applicable. 
There is a $20 non-volunteer fee if you choose not to volunteer with GSA and a $20 late charge if you form is post marked after July 18th.

Uniforms are and additional $50 for the package.  Included 2 jerseys, 1 pair of shorts and 2 pair of socks.  Each item can be purchased seperate as well.

Practice Fields

Please do not practice at Headley Park, Hannah Park, or Shull Park as the practices damage the fields for game play.
