Dear GSA Families,
Due to ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 outbreak, and in cooperation with the City of Gahanna Department of Parks and Recreation, GSA has cancelled its Spring 2020 soccer season.
All registrations for the Spring 2020 season will be fully refunded. If you paid your registration fees with a credit/debit card your fees will be refunded to that card. If you paid with a check or cash then your fees will be refunded via check. The refunds will take some time as the process is not terribly fast, but we will be begin processing them this week.
At this time we do not know how the park closures will impact the summer camps planned at Headley this year. If you have signed up for the Challenger Camp, or the Central Ohio Elite Camp, please follow up with them directly as these camps are not operated by GSA.

Gahanna Soccer Association
This week we were informed that all Gahanna parks will be closed through the month of April. There is still some discussion being had to determine if that includes the first weekend of May as well. This closure is fluid at this time and will depend on how things go over the next few weeks. As things stand now, we are planning the following dates for the Spring 2020 season.
The GSA board met recently to discuss restart plans for the Spring 2020 season. Though it is still too soon to know for sure when we will resume play, these are our tentative dates based on an April 16th green light to resume play.

In light of recent news regarding the COVID-19 spread in the United States, we wanted to let you know what we are doing to promote a healthy environment for our athletes, coaches, families, and spectators. Our city government, Gahanna Division of Police and Gahanna-Jefferson School District are in daily contact with Franklin County Public Health and are communicating with us in a timely manner.
As of today, Thursday, March 12, 2020, Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools have issued this change: “all school-related and district-sponsored after school events involving parents, family members, volunteers or community members are canceled or postponed until further notice . Any school-related or district-sponsored event involving only GJPS students and staff will continue as scheduled.”
Additionally, Ohio South Youth Soccer Association (OSYSA), the governing body of which GSA is a member, has also recommended suspension of all member league play until at least April 15th. Statement from OSYSA.
In the past, we have followed the procedures of Gahanna-Jefferson Schools on cancellations or changes to events as well as guidance from OSYSA. We will continue to follow their lead now, as this situation evolves. Effective immediately, all GSA events are suspended until at least April 15th. We will make this information, as well as any additional information we develop, available at gahannasoccer.com in the coming hours.
We are confident that local public health and safety procedures will guide us in our decisions about cancelling and/or postponing events for our athletes/participants moving forward. We will keep you updated throughout the next several weeks, as the COVID-19 spread in Franklin County is likely to change. Franklin County Public Health also has helpful information on their website: myfcph.org. We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated on any changes to our schedule via email and the GSA website.
