The Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, which expands existing mandated youth abuse reporting laws and requires abuse awareness training for youth sports organizations, comes in response to the recent abuse scandals that have shaken the youth sports world. All GSA volunteers that regularly interact with youth athletes are required to complete training at the US Center for Safe Sport, including:

• Head and Assistant Coaches
• GSA Board Members
• Team Administrators
• Adult Referees

The Safe Sport training is part of the coach registration process. After registering as a coach, volunteers will receive an email with instructions on how to complete Safe Sport training and other requirements.
