2017 Board of Directors Elections

The Annual General Meeting of the Gahanna Soccer Association Board of Directors is taking place on Wednesday, November 8th, at 7:30 PM at Headley Park. At this meeting, the following board member positions will be elected:
  • U-5 Commissioner
  • U-7 Commissioner
  • Middle School / High School Commissioner
  • Adult Commissioner
  • Referee Assignor
  • Treasurer
  • Vice President of Operations

Positions and Responsibilities

Commissioner of league Play
  • Shall be responsible for communications to and from coaches within their area of responsibility.
  • Shall distribute schedules, collect scores and conduct tournament play if applicable.
  • Shall participate in the process of player registration prior to each season of play.

Referee Assignor
  • Shall be responsible for conducting new training and ongoing assessment of referees.
  • Shall be responsible for referee assignment and redress of questions and concerns on referee issues.
  • Shall be responsible to collect match score cards and tally payment of referees.
  • Shall participate in the process of player registration prior to each season of play.
  • Shall serve on the Grievance Committee.

Treasurer
  • Shall receive, keep and be responsible for all finances and monies of the corporation.
  • Shall keep detailed accounts of all income and expenditures.
  • Shall be responsible for the filing of all financial reports.
  • Shall be responsible for providing oversight to any investments of the corporation.
  • Shall participate in the process of player registration prior to each season of play.

Vice President - Operations
  • Work with the president to operate the Corporation.
  • Oversee the operations of teams fielded for play by the Corporation.
  • Oversee the conducting of play at the facilities of the Corporation.
  • Intercede in and settle all disputes relative to team and league operations.
  • Conduct the inquiry into any disciplinary issues within GSA.
  • Shall serve on the Grievance Committee;
* Eligibility for the office of President or as one or more Vice Presidents requires that the nominee be a current Board member and must have served a minimum of one term of office on the Board of Directors.

How do I nominate someone for a position?

Nominations for the above positions must be made through an active GSA Board member. If you would like to suggest a nomination, please contact┬áthe GSA Secretary, Ashley Bryant, via email at [email protected]. This email must include the potential nominee's name, mailing address, email address, phone number, affiliation with GSA (parent, coach, volunteer, etc.), and a description of why the person should be considered for nomination. Nominations must be received prior to the close of the October 11, 2017 meeting of the GSA Board of Directors.

Who can vote and how?

The process of voting shall be by physical appearance at the November 8, 2017 Annual General Meeting and verbal response with one vote per open Board seat for any household that participated in GSA Fall 2017 season. For example, a parent from a family with three GSA participants may cast a single vote for each position on behalf of his/her family.
