Instilling a lifelong passion for the sport in young players

Frequently Asked Questions

Last updated: March 28, 2020

Has the Spring 2020 season been cancelled?

No, not at this time. While we are trying our best to be optimistic, we simply do not know how long it will be before our city, state, and national officials will recommend that it's safe for recreational sports to resume play. The safety of our participants, officials, and family members is our top priority and we will not do anything to put them in jeopardy.

When will the season resume?

Assuming we are allowed to resume events on May 1st, the first games for most GSA teams will be on Saturday, May 9th. Unfortunately, teams won't have much time to practice together before games get underway due to park closures. It's not an ideal situation, but we don't want to extend the season further into June, or even July, than is absolutely necessary. Adult league (and possibly High School) games would resume play on May 3rd.

When can we start practicing again?

Teams can resume organized practices on May 1st. In the meantime, we recommend that all players practice individual skills on their own or with immediate family that live in the same home. Continue to practice social distancing as is necessary.

When will the spring season end?

If the weather doesn't cost us any weekends, all Soccer Sprouts and Youth Program leagues should be completed by June 27th.

When will GSA decide on whether the season is cancelled?

This will depend on what happens over the next few weeks. If/When it becomes apparent that we simply will not be able to have a spring season, we will notify all membership via our website, email, and phone system.

Will I receive a refund if the season is cancelled?

Yes. If the season is cancelled then you will receive a full refund of your registration fees.

Can my spring fees be applied to the fall season?

Unfortunately, no. We are in the process of moving to a new registration platform (yes...again) and we have no mechanism to transfer family balances from one site to the other.

Can I return my uniform?

Not yet. Until we know for sure if the COVID-19 virus can be transferred via clothing it is unsafe for our staff to accept uniform returns. In the event that the CDC reports that it is safe to handle potentially exposed clothing, we would only accept returns on unworn shorts, unworn jerseys, and socks still in their original packaging if you have a receipt from the spring 2020 walk-in events.

I've called the office and no one is answering. How can I reach GSA?

Please email us at [email protected] for the quickest response. Like many of you, all GSA employees are working from home as much as possible to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Will there be games on Memorial Weekend?

Yes. The only exception would be the adult league as they typically do not play that weekend.
