Coaching Education


Though they are not required by GSA, completing coaching license courses is one of the best ways to increase your coaching knowledge and overall knowledge of the game. At a minimum, coaches are encouraged to complete the USYSA Youth Module I and II courses or the NSCAA Levels 1, 2, and 3 diplomas. Both of these coaching paths are offered through OSYSA. USYSA National "F" License

Beginning in early 2015, U.S. Soccer began offering the National "F" license as an online course. This course is intended for coaches at the U6, U7, and U8 levels, but the knowledge obtained is useful at all levels. There are no prerequisites for the course, however it is recommended that new coaches take the Youth Module I or Youth Module II classes prior to taking this course. The "F" license course can be found by visiting the U.S. Soccer Digital Coaching Center. The cost for the course is $25.  More information about the F license can be found at

Education Reimbursement

GSA offers a one-time reimbursement of up to $25 for any USYSA or NSCAA coaching education course completed by a member coach. The $25 can be applied as a direct reimbursement to the coach or discount on a player's registration in the season following course completion. Coaches must request the reimbursement via email within 90 days of course completion to A copy of the course completion certificate or license certificate must be provided as proof of completion.

    Here you can find lots of free practice activities, the official USYSA coaching manual, and much, much more!
  • SAY Soccer Coaching Library
    SAY Soccer is a USSF-affiliated soccer organization that provides a great deal of free coaching information to the public. In particular, coaches should check out their SAYTEC Library, Drill Videos (most in HD), and Printable Drills.
  • Kids First Soccer
    Promote a child centered approach to the organization and instruction of youth sports. Special emphasis is placed on the promotion of the game of soccer as a life-long, family oriented activity, that provides for child-parent bonding, team work and friendships, as well as, adequate aerobic exercise.
